Youth Day was celebrated at Govinda Dasa PU College, Surathkal. The resource person for the programme was Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, MLA of Mangalore City North Assembly Constituency. The programme focused on creating awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among youth.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Sri Jayachandra S. Hathwar, President, along with Smt. Lakshmi, Principal of the college. The chief guest for the programme was Sri Bharath Raj of Krishnapura, Karavali Seva Prathistana, Surathkal. Prof. Ramesh Bhat S. G., Director of Administration, Govinda Dasa PU College, was the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty addressed the students and spoke about the importance of youth in building a strong nation. He also highlighted the harmful effects of drugs and encouraged students to stay away from addiction and focus on their studies and future.
The programme was attended by the staff and students of the college .
